Enomatic UK

Today we put Enomatic UK live on the web, and added them to our web site portfolio. Enomatic are the worldwide leader of wine serving technology. They provide wine serving machines that give you the opportunity to sample fine wines by the glass, as the machine can preserve the wine and keep it fresh for weeks.

Design Spin have, and will continue to work closely with Enomatic UK, as currently the site is in its infancy and still has extra features to be added which you will see over the coming month.

Please take the time to give them a visit

The website includes a custom built CMS which allows Enomatic UK to modify their site products quickly and easily. We hope Enomatic UK clients will enjoy the website as much as Design Spin enjoyed creating it.

We are going to India.

We finally got a visa through which means we will be off to India next month for some very intensive training which will increase the skill set available to Design Spin. The reason we selected India for the training was purely cost driven, obviously when starting up a new business trying to keep expenditure down is imperative.

The area the training will focus on is in the use of various Adobe software products. By taking this training we are sure our development time on websites will reduce, making us more time and cost efficient as a business.

The training itself will be delivered by Koenig Solutions. Koenig Solutions are Adobe certified training partners and have various training facilities around India. Our choice of destination is Goa, and although this training is delivered at an accelerated pace, I am sure there will be a small amount of time available for taking in the beautiful beaches!

Design spin - Where are we at?

Due to Design Spin being in the fortunate situation of having plenty of client work to concentrate on in its early days, giving our own website any attention is proving to be difficult!

Although we did manage to find the time today to tone everything down a bit! It was decided that all the bright green was a bit too much, and we were not keen on the the blue menus. So we have changed the colours of the menus for a more subtle shade of grey, with a slight transparency, which can be appreciated if you are using the latest version of most web browsers.

In addition to this we have started adding our service pages, which will soon be populated with everything Design Spin has to offer. Why did we not build the whole site then upload the lot? We figured get what you can online and get discovered by the search engines as soon as possible, this must be a priority for any new business. A search engine is basically a modern day yellow pages!

Design Spin portfolio now available.

We finally got our portfolio page onto our website, although currently we are slightly short of content to display as we are a new business, but everybody has to start somewhere. By the end of next month their should be at least another three design spin sites for folk to feast their eyes on.

For our portfolio we opted to use the amazing Jquery plugin for Javascript. This enabled us to keep development time very short and get the content online very quickly. Our portfolio automatically scrolls through the designs and highlights the thumbnail of the image you are currently viewing below.

Further development will come later when the thumbnails take up the whole width of the viewing area, at this point we may add a thumbnail carousel or change the design of the portfolio completely, we shall see!

Enjoy the designs.

Design Spin W3C Validated!

Design Spin finished adding W3C validation to their website today, this can be seen by clicking the W3C logos at the bottom of their web pages. One of the logos will show compliance for XHTML and the other will show compliance for CSS.

W3C validation we feel is a good way to demonstrate that we try to follow consistent standards wherever possible. To learn more about these standards visit: why validate?
